Eden Hollywood

Eden Hollywood: If you’re going to do the Hollywood Club thing, you might as well go all the way, and there’s no half-stepping here. Squeeze through the tight door (not so hard if you’re super fab) and start with a cocktail in the, yes, Eden-like outdoor garden. Inside, it’s all dark walnut walls, sexy brown banquettes, and fashionably rich patrons. Slide in to one of 19 VIP tables and do the bottle service thing, or get your groove on in front of the oxidized helix-partitioned DJ booth. Lasers, CO2 canons, and confetti keep things festive late into the night.

Created and conceptualized by veteran nightclub mogul David Judaken in conjunction with Partner Tony Daly and design visionary Gulla Jonsdottir, Syndicate Hospitality Group’s (SHG) newest venue ‘Eden Hollywood’ is an unexpected sanctuary in the heart of Hollywood. Occupying a former SHG location, the venue has undergone a comprehensive renovation to create a unique environment unlike anything else “We are creating a natural element in an unnatural environment, a place where people feel comfortable but it’s still a dysfunctional nightclub where guests can mingle under Earth’s canopy.” said Judaken.

At Eden Hollywood, upon entering the club, guests are welcomed into a mirrored vestibule leading to an outdoor oasis complete with mature trees while enjoying a cocktail at the patio bar adorned with a sculptured teak root backbar that spans 10 ft in diameter. Within the interior, Eden Hollywood’s focal point is the DJ booth which serves as the venue’s DNA mainframe and is bordered by oxidized helix partitions to create a striking center stage. Walnut wood overlays float horizontally layered adding to the visual excitement of the venue and reminiscent of a Frank Lloyd masterpiece while honeycomb-inspired brass nests decorate the ceiling. Wood-framed ethnic motifs styled as ornate water lilies’ are present throughout fusing the eastern and western elements. Recessed lighting in amber with chocolate, coffee and ebony earth-tone accented pieces, including the abstract reflective steel tree cutouts that flank the main bar, create a comforting aura for nature’s playground contrasted by lasers, Co2 canons and confetti that ignite the atmosphere. Guests are guaranteed a great party from one of the many elevated platforms that weave throughout the 19 VIP tables to create an energetic hive of activity making Eden Hollywood unlike anything else. It’s the ultimate temptation, a truly biblical experience.

The live camel wasn’t the only wild animal on hand. In addition to some monkeys assisting the cocktail waitresses and some serpentine dancers, there was the usual untamed garden of Los Angeles clubgoers: owl-eyed models in fedoras, skinny faux-ballerinas who could outfox Mila Kunis in “Black Swan,” and herds of guys watering themselves with vodka.

With its low lighting and intimate atmosphere done up in sleek and woodsy tones, Eden Hollywood is designed to encourage seemingly private bouts of ecstasy or sin — but with its booths and tiered flooring, it’s not the easiest room to swim through when at capacity (that would be around 500).
